While in safe networking mode, when I enter my control panel to check the user accounts, I get an Internet Explorer script error and it will not let me access the user accts. Nothing works in "safe mode" including my Norton software. When this screen popped up about 4 days ago, it was the first time I had seen it.

I don't know if I got bit by a bug or not. Since that first day, I have run Trend micro scans and also un-installed Norton software, and thought I would install another Anti virus system, but it won't install because I am in "safe mode.

Before 4 days ago, I had never seen this logon screen. I did use a WinXP password protect for my system, but it has never showed up after the "logon screen" that is showing up now.

This unfortunately is not an option. In order to use the drive the operating system would have to be running. The only way you can format the C: partition is when you are booting from the optical drive - that way the C: partition is not home to the operating system and the process can be managed in memory from instructions contained on the optical disc.
